Family owned in Benton since 1966
Travel trailers and destination trailers minutes from Kentucky Lake. Sales, service, financing, rentals and trade-ins in one place.
Overview
Benton sits in the best camping country in the state. Kentucky Lake is on one side, Lake Barkley on the other, and Land Between the Lakes runs down the middle. That shapes how people here buy campers. Most of our customers are not planning cross country trips. They want something to pull to a campground on a Friday, or a unit to set on a seasonal site and leave.
Camp-A-Rama has outfitted families since 1966 and has been under new ownership since 2019. We are a dealer for Forest River, Keystone, Prime Time Manufacturing and Gulf Stream, we service all makes and models, and we rent campers nightly. That mix matters, because the people who sell you a trailer are the ones who winterize it in October.
Everything we stock is towable: travel trailers and destination trailers, across new and used units. If you want a motorhome we will tell you straight that it is not what we carry, though our service department still works on them.

The core of our lot. Compact single axle units through family bunkhouses.

View Lightweight CampersOur brands
Prime Time and Keystone make up the largest share of our lot. Browse by builder or jump straight to a model line.
Our deepest brand. Avenger and Avenger LT cover the lightweight and bunkhouse end, Tracer the mid size range, LaCrosse the big destination trailers.
The Passport family is the workhorse here. Super Lite keeps weight down for half ton trucks, Classic adds length and sleeping space, Hideout shows up used.
Wildwood covers roomier front kitchen layouts. Cherokee Wolf Pup is the small, easy to tow end first time buyers land on.
Catalina is a long running mid size line. Clipper single axle units are about as light as a hard sided camper gets.
Gulf Stream Conquest brings big bunkhouse floorplans. Heartland Prowler Lynx covers the compact, budget conscious used end.
Zinger Lite and Autumn Ridge Mini are light tandem axle options. Hy-Line Premier units are destination trailers built to stay put.

Buying guide
The most common mistake we correct on the lot: falling for a floorplan, then learning the truck cannot pull it. Work the other direction.
The trailer empty at the factory, before water, propane, food and gear. A starting point, not a planning number.
The most the trailer is rated to weigh loaded. This is the number you should actually shop against.
What presses down on your hitch. It has to stay inside both your receiver rating and your payload.
A practical guideline we use is to stay at or under roughly 80 percent of your rated towing capacity when loaded. That leaves margin for hills, headwinds and a bed full of gear. Water alone is about eight pounds per gallon, so a full fresh tank plus propane and supplies adds up faster than people expect.
Look Up Your Towing CapacityRough starting points
Mid size SUV
Single axle trailers and our under 4,000 lb filter.
Half ton pickup
Most mid size travel trailers, but check payload, not just tow rating.
Three quarter ton
The full lot opens up, destination trailers included.
Floorplans
Once you know your weight ceiling, the floorplan conversation gets simple.
A bunkhouse. A rear bunk room keeps everyone from stepping over each other at bedtime and holds resale value well.
Browse Tracer models →Rear kitchen or rear living layouts trade sleeping capacity for counter space and a real sofa. Shorter and easier to park.
See Passport Super Lite →Light single axle units tow with less drama and forgive mistakes while you learn to back into a site.
Under 4,000 lb campers →Destination trailers give residential height ceilings, larger windows and full size appliances. Most owners move them once.
See destination trailers →One more thing worth deciding early: slide outs add real living room and are worth it on a rainy weekend, but they also add weight, seals and a mechanism that needs attention. If you camp a few times a year and store outdoors, a no slide floorplan is simply less to maintain.
Comparison
We sell both and push neither. The right answer depends on how often you camp and how much you want to handle yourself.
Water intrusion is what ends campers, and it rarely announces itself. Press the ceiling corners and lower walls for anything soft or spongy. Check roof seams, sealant around every roof penetration, and the corners of slide out openings. Stains near a window or vent mean a seal failed, and the question is how long it ran unnoticed.
Then run every system: water heater, furnace, air conditioner, refrigerator on both propane and shore power, the slide out and the awning. Check tire date codes, because RV tires age out long before the tread does, and look at the frame and axles for rust.
Buying privately? A pre-purchase inspection is cheap insurance. We would rather tell you to walk away than service a bad unit for three years.
Payment options
Traditional lending is not the only path, and for some buyers it is not the best one.
We work with several lending partners who consider buyers across most credit brackets. Applying first gives you a real number to shop against.
No credit check and no bank. Available on towable RVs, with terms up to four years used and five years new. A 20 percent down payment plus taxes, title and registration are due at signing, and you can pay off early.
Trading rolls your current camper into the next one and we handle the paperwork. Consignment usually brings a higher price, and we store, photograph and show the unit for you.
Advice we give every buyer: decide your monthly number before your floorplan. Longer terms make any camper look affordable and also mean you can owe more than the trailer is worth for years.
After the sale
The purchase takes an afternoon. Ownership takes years, and the dealership worth buying from is the one still useful in year four.
We service all makes and models, not only what we sell. Routine maintenance, roof and sealant work, electrical and plumbing diagnostics, roof air and refrigerator repair, winterization, inspections, plus solar and lithium upgrades.
Parts identification, compatibility checks and ordering, with installation available. Our mobile technicians handle many repairs at the site where your RV is parked.
Renting is the most honest test drive in this business. We deliver and set up the camper, so you get a real weekend in a real trailer before signing anything.
Reseal the roof on a schedule.Sealant is cheap. A delaminated roof is not, and it is the fastest way to total a trailer's value.
Winterize before the first hard freeze.Split lines and cracked fittings are the most preventable repair we see each spring.
Repack wheel bearings on schedule.A bearing failure on US-68 with a loaded trailer is a very bad afternoon.
From the lot
Patterns we see every season on the lot, and how to avoid paying for them later.
Add water, propane, batteries, gear and food and a trailer gains hundreds of pounds fast. Shop against GVWR.
A weight distribution hitch with sway control, a brake controller and the right ball mount are not optional on most tandem axle trailers.
People size a camper around the weekend the whole family comes, then tow extra length the other fifty one. Buy for your normal trip.
Ask where every shutoff and breaker is, how to dump correctly, and how to winterize. Record it on your phone. You will rewatch it.
Measure your gate, driveway slope and HOA rules first. Figuring out where a 32 foot trailer lives is easier before it follows you home.
